16 Apr myHealth@myHands: New project revolutionises digital healthcare across the European Union
The myHealth@myHands project will address the growing need for a unified data ecosystem across the European Union. Currently, accessing medical records and digital health services can be a challenge, especially when travelling between different EU countries. The project aims to help streamline this process by making medical records and health data interoperable and universally accessible by 2030.
The myHealth@myHands Project (“Person-centred health management through access to their health data using EUDI Wallet services”)is being funded by the DIGITAL framework programme of the European Union, and aims to revolutionise digital healthcare across the European Union by 2030. For the duration of 48 months, a consortium of 38 partners will work on empowering EU citizens by making it possible for them to manage their health data, coordinated by the Department of Health, Ireland.
myHealth@myHands aims to transform digital health by providing secure, user-friendly access to health data, ensuring that all EU citizens can benefit from a connected and efficient health ecosystem. This includes making health services more accessible digitally and enabling individuals to manage who can access their health data. myHealth@myHands further aims to develop a knowledge hub, fostering open dialogue with citizens, patients, health professionals, industry representatives, and academics
Project objectives
myHealth@myHands aims to fulfil the following objectives:
- ENSURE that EU citizens have secure online access to their medical records by 2030, fostering a seamless digital health experience.
- EMPOWER EU citizens to take control of their health data, enabling them to decide who can access it and, in turn, receive personalised health support.
- INTEGRATE existing infrastructures with MyHealth@EU services to further enhance seamless data flow across the EU.
- ESTABLISH a knowledge hub for sharing best practices and supporting collaborative health and care community-building.
- DEVELOP user-friendly, secure, and flexible digital health solutions through user-centred design, ensuring ease of use and convenient personal support.
- ADDRESS the challenge of fragmented data access to enable seamless and efficient healthcare delivery across EU member states.
