Open Innovation is the bridge that connects the ODIN project and the health ecosystem. Throughout the project lifetime, ties with growing companies are strengthened to assist them in consolidating solutions and sparking innovations for the project. This creates the possibility to interconnect the ODIN Open Innovation Hub and the ODIN Community of Interest.

ODIN’s philosophy of open innovation operates along two main lines of action: The Open Innovation Hub, which promotes new ideas within the healthcare sector, and the Community of Interest which consists of partners mainly from the healthcare and ICT domains (AI, robotics, IoT). They are interested in sharing experiences, challenges, learnings, services, solutions, good practices and use cases positioning Europe at the forefront of the Hospital 4.0 revolution – based on highly digitised and robotised health installations.

Open Innovation Hub

At ODIN, we have established a premium Innovation Hub focused on the hospital sector. This Hub initiates and supports partnerships to transform ideas into advanced services. To this end, ODIN’s Open Innovation Hub has developed several areas that will help companies and hospitals bridge the technological gap and create value in both directions.

Through this initiative, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to develop their ideas, deploy their products, and validate as well as certify their technological solutions in an authentic environment. The ODIN Hub connects  the most prominent hospitals in the sector to implement innovative solutions that enhance hospital efficiency.

The Open Innovation Hub is divided into three areas:

1. Healthcare Challenges

This area is aimed at hospitals to boost their digital transformation through collaboration and open innovation. To this end, each hospital will present an innovation challenge that needs to be addressed. Concurrently, startups or companies will seek to resolve these challenges with their solutions that leverage the most disruptive technologies.

This is a unique opportunity to meet startups and technology providers that will help solve the major challenges of both the present and future of hospitals.

1. Market Scouting

SMEs, industry, technology centres, universities, or technical professionals, can introduce their ideas and technologies to work on their visions for a new, more efficient and sustainable hospital of the future. This is a space designed to assist companies in gaining visibility, and connecting with hospitals, and major enterprises in the sector.

2. Connect with experts

Additionally, the possibility to contact members of the project management board is given in order to receive answers from experts in the field.

Community of Interest

The Community of Interest wants to attract innovation and open collaboration with the best talent among healthcare professionals, researchers, technologists, and patients to co-create solutions that address the current challenges of the healthcare system. It is a touchstone for the entrepreneurial world in an environment designed for co-creation, where highly qualified researchers come together to work. Ideation & Teambuilding Sessions

Ideation & Teambuilding Sessions are offered to foster creativity and collaboration. Here, diverse teams brainstorm innovative solutions for smart hospital challenges, leveraging collective expertise to drive forward-thinking healthcare advancements.

Lean Workshops

Lean Workshops are offered to streamline hospital processes and enhance efficiency. Focused on eliminating waste and optimising workflows, these sessions equip healthcare professionals with tools to improve patient care and operational effectiveness.

Lessons Learned Sessions

In Lessons Learned Sessions project outcomes and insights are shared. Through analysing successes and challenges, strategies are continuously refined, ensuring smarter and more effective healthcare solutions for the future.
